Fugrass Trail Work Party

FUGRASS TRAIL WORK PARTY!!

Let’s make trail history together! We’re beyond excited to finally kick off work on the Fuji Mountain & Bunchgrass connector: a dream trail years in the making. This is the final piece that will link two of the most iconic rides and hikes. We need your help to make it happen.

We’ll be working up on Bunchgrass Ridge, building brand new singletrack through some truly special backcountry terrain. This ridge has seen travelers for centuries from Indigenous tribes to early settlers and soon, it’ll be open to trail users in a whole new way!

It's is important to RSVP to these trail work events so we know how many tools and hard hats to bring but even more importantly, SNACKS!

RSVP HERE: https://bttr.im/iogc3

We’ll meet at the OTA Shed (76248 Industrial Park Way, Oakridge) for coffee and snacks at 9AM and caravan up to the site from there!

What to Know:

Roads are in great shape, all vehicles welcome

Cell service drops off fast, but there is good service in some spots of the trail, plan accordingly.

Bring gloves, water, lunch/trail snacks, and wear long pants, long sleeve and sturdy boots!

Tools and post dig refreshments/brews provided by Oakshire Brewing!

Curious about “Scott Taylor Lake” on the way up? Ask Derrick for the story

Trailhead Directions (if meeting us there):

Left on Eagle Creek Road (FSR 5883) go up for ~8.2 miles

Left on NF 381

Keep going past the lake (you’ll know it), trailhead is at the end

This is a really special one, folks! If you’ve ever ridden Fuji or hiked Bunchgrass, you know how epic this connection will be. Come be part of something really special!

IF YOU'RE NEW TO VOLUNTEERING ON THE WILLAMETTE NATIONAL FOREST: Please create a volunteer profile and sign into the WNF Cascade Volunteers volunteer tracking system. You can do this by heading over to the CV volunteer page and creating your own account here: https://bit.ly/3ZCqon4 - please add Oakridge Trails Alliance as your primary organization affiliation in the West Cascades Trail volunteer group. This will help us track volunteer matching hours for our grant reporting purposes. You should be able to register for this work party from a list of public volunteer opportunities once you’re in the system. If for some reason there is already an account registered under your email, we've likely already got you in the system, and you don't need to do anything else - we will manually enter your hours after each work party.

Thank you for your time and efforts! We can’t wait to see you out there!
