Hey Dirt Fam!
First off, thank you all SO MUCH to those who signed up for the FUGRASS Campout this weekend, October 17–19. We were beyond excited to kick off OTA’s inaugural campout with all of you and we explored every possible way to make it happen!
Unfortunately, Mother Nature had other plans. She dropped 5 inches of fresh snow on the site last weekend, and after sending the crew up to scout conditions, we’ve made the tough call to cancel the overnight campout. There are fresh trees down from the snow load, and the chances of the road melting out enough for safe access and camping are, well… slimmer than Dolly Parton's waistline!
But being a trail builder isn’t just about the glory of new tread, it's also about staying safe so we can build another day. So, here's the plan:
New Plan: Day Trip to Cloverpatch – Saturday, October 18th! 9am-4pm
We're pivoting to a trail work day on Cloverpatch, and it's shaping up to be an absolute banger. We'll ride, dig, and share a warm pot of Alex’s famous chili and enjoy a fire afterward.
Here’s what you need to know:
Meeting Point: Trans-Cascadia Parking Lot
Time: 9am to 4pm
Carpooling: We'll coordinate carpools from the Trans Cascadia Parking Lot.
Bring:
Trail snacks for yourself
Long sleeve shirt & pants
Sturdy boots
Gloves, eye protection & hard hat (we’ve got extras if you don’t have your own)
Your bike! (Ride Cloverpatch to Alpine and back to the Red Covered Bridge Portal)
Post-work hang: Stick around for refreshments from Oakshire Brewing and a fire tailgate-style chill session at Trans-Cascadia!
Sunday looks like a wet one, so let’s make the most of Saturday. We’re bummed to miss the campout, but we’re stoked to get out there with you all and keep the good vibes rolling.
See you out there!
